It has been interesting to read the comments on this list serve as it relates to the Lincoln schools. I live in Lincoln but work in another school district. In that district the School Committee has started hosting coffee houses as a time when members of the community, school administration and school committee can talk in more of a dialog format. In this case, it was in response to community dissatisfaction with school committee meetings where the school committee can listen but not respond to public comments.
I believe it alternates between days and evenings. It is in person (as are school committee meetings now. I am guessing it works with the open meeting law. Just thought I would share. -Lisa Freedman
