Greetings,
The 7th annual Race For Snow is taking place on the evening of January 21st. Register for the event <https://www.skireg.com/the-seventh-annual-race-for-snow> here. The Race for Snow team is a group of Boston-area high school ski racers committed to combating climate change. Practicing at Weston Ski Track, we rely heavily on man-made snow and are feeling the effects of the climate crisis as the amount of natural snow dwindles each year. Our goal is to raise money for climate change mitigation! All proceeds of the Seventh Annual Race for Snow will go to <https://protectourwinters.org/> Protect Our Winters, which has fought climate change since 2007 by giving an authentic voice to the outdoor sports community by engaging pro athletes and enthusiasts alike to face the fossil fuel lobby in an unpolitical fashion. We chose to support this organization because our donations are able to go further in enacting change when we give to a genuine organization with big plans, a vision, and high success. Your participation helps save our planet and empowers the local ski clubs and teens who are working to make a difference. Thank you! The freestyle races will include 5km and 10km options for women and men. For younger skiers there is a race for lollipoppers, a 1k for first and second graders, a 2k for third through fifth graders, and a 3k for sixth through eighth graders! If you are a skiing parent, this is a perfect opportunity to rip it up! We also have an awesome <https://www.32auctions.com/RaceForSnow2023> online auction, and great raffle and race prizes, all thanks to our sponsors! Go to the <https://theraceforsnow.wixsite.com/home> Race for Snow website for more information! If you would like to make a donation directly to Protect Our Winters, you can do so through the Race For Snow <https://donate.protectourwinters.org/fundraiser/4300393> fundraising page on the Protect Our Winters website. Our Instagram page is also always up to date with new information, so follow us! The account name is @raceforsnow. Again, the race will take place on January 21st. Register for the event <https://www.skireg.com/the-seventh-annual-race-for-snow> here. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns! The Race For Snow Team Just as it was seven years ago, this race is entirely organized, directed, and facilitated by high school students from the greater Boston area.
