Will, Acton (formerly Bedford Rugs) Rugs on Great Rd in Acton is excellent- they are the epitome of a family business. They are an Afghani family raising sheep for the wool, vegetables for the dye, and all family members weave. Nazar is the seller in the States- can have the family customize for you as well.
We bought a couple of rugs from them over the past- we’re concerned about how colorfast they dyes would be- and they’ve been amazing over 15 years later. Rugs still look new. They sell to Dover Rug; so you can buy the same rug at Acton rug for half the price. Nazar will pick up and clean for you for a small charge. I think every local merchant uses Bon Ton Cleaners in Watertown on Coolidge Hill Rd. You can take it direct or have Nazar take it for a few dollars more. We have Nazar take them because the mark up is minimal and he has a lot more leverage with them than we do!
