Hello LSC Families, We apologize for the late notice, but unfortunately due to a number of compounding factors we need to cancel camp tomorrow, Monday August 8th. This is a decision we do not come to lightly, but it is the right one to ensure the safety and well-being of our campers. The following factors led us to this decision: * The Codman Pool Lot and Brooks circle are being paved as part of the school building project tomorrow. The traffic and parking difficulties that arise from this will be profound. This also prohibits us from accessing the gym, movement room, and auditorium - our main air conditioned indoor spaces. * The heat advisory is still in effect and with our limited indoor space options, we cannot appropriately address camper needs tomorrow. Additionally, the large outdoor tents we had on Codman Field were mistakenly taken down a week early by the vendor, again limiting our shade and cooler locations for campers. * During the thunderstorms on Friday, phone service to the Lincoln campus was knocked out. We currently do not have the ability to make or receive phone calls to the office. Because camp is being cancelled due to circumstances outside of our control, your MyRec account will be credited with a refund for the day. We expect to open as planned on Tuesday.
