It seems that some think the "undisturbed nature experience" is at odds with being on a bike. I assure you - it is not. I'm *far* quieter alone on my bike meandering through the woods than I am when tromping through with my young kids and/or dog!
I've really enjoyed getting to know our beautiful town by bike over the last year or so, and *every one* of my encounters while biking our woodland trails has been positive. I've chatted with neighbors, met and patted dogs, and generally encountered Lincolnites who were out there trying to enjoy the space in their own way. The vast majority of the time, I've encountered *nobody*. My experience out there has been the polar opposite of the doom being described on LT. I wish some of the louder voices here could be a bit more tolerant and see the current proposal as what it is - a compromise - hugely tilted towards keeping the trails walking-only. A full 80% of the trails will remain walking only under the proposed changes. EIGHTY PERCENT! In any case, I'd appreciate it if you could stop demonizing those of us in town who bike. We're your neighbors too, and just trying to make the town a more green, fun and/or safe place for ourselves and our families. I look forward to seeing you out on the trails.
