Yesterday, I received an email from the school superintendent containing a
link to the LPS Family Survey. The survey consists of 39 questions (+8
demographic questions) about our sense of how the school is doing. I
strongly support this practice of collecting information to help set
priorities.

However, I was surprised to see that the survey did not ask any direct
questions to assess what parents think about the quality of instruction. If
you also feel that that was a major gap in the survey, I would like to ask
you to write to the school committee to let them know (
schoolc...@lincnet.org). I have emailed them myself, but if I am the only
one to express concern, I expect no action will be taken. If this concern
is shared more broadly, however, we may receive a different survey that
would give additional helpful information to drive school priorities in the
future.

Sincerely

Marc Herant
