There are incentives, some larger this year and some phasing out that you may 
want to pursue if these projects were on your horizon. There is also a Mass 
Save Heat Loan

 for up to $25,000 for energy-efficient heating upgrades. This loan is 0% 
interest for 7 years. There are also Massachusetts Income Eligible Incentives

systems, even for renters!

 
Solar Photo Voltaic Panels
Solar Federal tax credits are 26% this year. They fall to 22% in 2023 and 
currently terminate in 2024.

Solar Hot Water Panels for Domestic Hot Water
There is a 26% federal tax credit <> (2022 that drops to 22% in 2023 and 
eliminated in 2024) on solar hot water heaters. There are Massachusetts 
Alternative Energy Credits (ACE’s) for this as well.

This 26% tax credit includes the new Solar Assisted Water Heaters

 which have a heat pump but no fan so it can be placed in a smaller area than a 
traditional heat pump for domestic hot water. 


Heat Pump Domestic Hot Water
There is a Massachusetts incentive for qualifying tanks of $750 that ends 
December 31st, 2022.

Electric Vehicles
The Federal EV tax incentive is up to  $7500 for all EVs except Tesla and Bolt 
who have phased out of the program. Plug in hybrids get a smaller tax incentive 
dependent on battery size.

There is a 2022 Massachusetts rebate of $2500 for EVs under $50,000.

Air Source Heat Pump for home heating 
There is a Massachusetts rebate of $10,000

qualifying equipment if you are replacing oil, propane, gas, or electric 
resistance heat for your whole house. If you are replacing part of your heating 
system, there is $1250/ton, up to $10k in rebates available.

qualifying equipment if you are replacing oil, propane, gas, or electric 
resistance heat for you whole house.

Additionally there is a 26% Federal Tax Credit through 2022 which drops to 22%
