As I read through the article in the Sunday New York Times called the gross cruelty of factory farming I remember the conversation about Codman Community Farm and their chicken raising and prices…. One of their chickens provides us with three meals for three or four people, roasting and eating the meat and then two broths from the leftovers … and while the growing situation is still not really free range those codman birds are treated so so much better… I think the slaughtering is still a difficult part to get my head around….the article is really worth reading… Moira
