As I read through the article in the Sunday New York Times  called the gross 
cruelty of factory farming I remember the conversation about Codman Community 
Farm and their chicken raising and prices….
One of their chickens provides us with three meals for three or four people, 
roasting and eating the meat and then two broths from the leftovers … and while 
the growing situation is still not really free range those codman  birds are 
treated so so much better…
I think the slaughtering is still a difficult part to get my head around….the 
article is really worth reading…
