Unfortunately no, there's nothing there AFAICS about permanently altering the bootloader or settings to prefer USB booting without hitting ctrl-U. From what I've found making this change would likely mean opening the chromebook and shorting pads or some other trick to enable overwriting the bootloader on the device.
