Keep in mind that Linaro is now moving to a monthly cadence, with quarterly reviews of the plans and requirements. So it's possible your work can be targeted earlier than May.2012. There is a clear separation between a blueprint (in launchpad, just a summary-assignment-timeline info, holds the work items list), and specification (in wiki, can be a lengthier technical account of what the design decisions are) If you let me know your launchpad id I can also add you as assignee of the said blueprint above.
