In context, Schubert Impromptu D. 899, the command lines \once\override Score.BarLine #'transparent = ##t \once\override Score.SpanBar #'transparent = ##t \bar"|" Inserted the key change correctly. Lilypond maintained spacing and broke the line after the key change. Measure numbers are correct. Thank you for your consultation. It helps me move from seeing what a command does to why it does.
