Hi all,
in order not to let this discussion go asleep again, I set up a GitHub
project

I hope this may become a place to organize ideas and eventually start
producing code.
As a start I put together a few pages on the Wiki, collecting statments
from recent (and some old) discussion.
Feel free to chime in, adding, commenting or whatever.
