* For the honophonic/polyphonic writing, my usual approach to these kinds
of issues (in my case, Lyrics), is to keep as much writing (polyphonic or
homophonic) in a single voice, then add a second voice only when there is
overlap that needs to be notated separately. In your case, constantly
maintain two voices (for each polyphonic element) and choose one of them to
contain the homophonic music.
