Liypond is so powerful and versatile that the initial learning process is daunting. However as a recent convert I strongly recommend that you pay close attention to the structure and philosophy which is significantly different from the likes of Sibelius, Finale, Noteworthy etc. Those programs given more weight to input and generally less to the output.
It will pay dividends to gain an early knowledge of the way Lilypond works and the scopes of various commands. There is a good introduction but it is rather long and you can get lost in it and further study can suddenly introduce new concepts. The main trouble with Lilypond is that it is so versatile so open to individual tweaks that it may seem daunting. You may find that you want to use another program with a GUI to input the notes and Lilypond to produce the final score. There may be troubles ahead but stick with it you will be rewarded. regards Peter Gentry _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
