Hi David, I had the impression that using \markuplist instead of \markup would require the markuplist-commands listed in the NR: http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.16/Documentation/notation-big-page#text-markup-list-commands And for \table-of-contents the NR (same in /Snippets and the LSR) mentions nothing else than \markuplist to use. It's always: \markuplist %!! \table-of-contents But it turns out that following your suggestion \markup %!! \fill-line { \center-column { \override-lines #'(line-width . 50) \table-of-contents } } works as expected.
