Hello Nils, While I have only started to explore with a mini example, I have been using pdf2svg to convert from PDF to SVG and then do some editing within Inkscape. On my Linux PC this looks quite fine, in particular you are not lacking the font shapes which I found annoyingly absent when trying to edit the direct SVG output from lilypond.
