Actually, we are about to push a Contributor Guide Document patch saying
that 'Staff' and 'Staves' are the two preferred terms to use within the
doc for consistency.

PS. Although personally a 'Staff' to me is either a big stick you go
walking (or beat someone) with or a person who teaches others - you see
Teachers (in England anyway) when I was at school, always had their
lunch breaks in the 'Staff Room'.
A mysterious place that no small boy ever got to see except perhaps
glimpse when on an errand for a teacher and had to knock on the door,
and even then it was often full shady figures amongst plumes of
cigarette or pipe smoke, and on reflection, I am sure I remember the
chink of bottles and glasses and lots of laughter.
But none of my teachers ever seemed to smile in class. Although that
does now kind of explain the 'faraway look' in the eyes of my Technical
Drawing teacher...
