Greetings. I've been playing with various ways to get every page of my
score to have the title of my piece, somewhere on the top of the page. I
do NOT want it duplicated on page one, and I don't want to use the
header's instrument field - that would cause first page duplication and
I do want the instrument identified anyway.
I've been following the information in section 3.2.2 of the Notation
reference, and it's not working. First of all, the documentation given
for "oddHeaderMarkup" and "evenHeaderMarkup" doesn't seem correct, in
that specifiying the first and not the second does NOT lead to the
second's being given the value of the first. The second just doesn't
appear. This is contrary to the documentation:
"evenHeaderMarkup
This is the page header for even-numbered pages. If unspecified,
the odd header is
used instead."
Two other problems with these variables is that oddHeaderMarkup DOES
appear on page one, leading to title duplication (if used for page
titling), and they seem to replace page numbers. Not a great idea at all.
So...I give up. I don't see how to do this useful thing.
Can someone give me clue?
Thanks!
Tom
