Hi James,
Is it possible to parenthesize a fermata? Trying \parenthesize
\fermata doesn't work for me.
c-\parenthesize \fermata
Works fine for me…
Kieren.
Wow, this could be better explained in the documentation. In the
section on parenthesis, only one example uses the leading -, and
it's not made clear that it's necessary. I don't know if it's just
for articulations, but simply adding:
For articulations, a hyphen is needed before the \parenthesis.
c2-\parenthesize -.
James could you email again saying exactly where this is in the
docs and put your suggested addition in the context of a sentence
or two that's already there so I can make a patch? Thanks,
Jonathan

Section 1.7.1 Parentheses
Objects may be parenthesized by prefixing \parenthesize to the music
event. When prefixed to a chord, it parenthesizes every note.
Individual notes inside a chord may also be parenthesized.
Non-note objects may be parenthesized as well.
%%%% Add the following sentence to the preceding paragraph. %%%
For articulations, a hyphen is needed before the \parenthesis.
Thanks,
James
