I can't help you with nwc too much. I just know that there is a nwc2xml converter from Noteworthy Compser to MusicXML available: http://www.geocities.com/juria90/nwc.html - From MusicXML you can then directly convert to braille using FreeDots: http://delysid.org/freedots.html Unfortunately, the nwc2ly converter has some issues and does not always produce entirely correct MusicXML... One particular problem is that the beaming of 8th notes is broken. I don't know if that has an effect on the Braille conversion later on or if the freedots authors are aware of them and work around the problems.
