Two possible extensions:
One might want (if called for) to have subbeaming, as in the what
gets when in the input code is changed to

That is, the 2s and 3s in this example may have subgrouping.
And it is common to only to use "+" as is necessary to avoid
confusing, summing the parts up. For example, the well known Eleno
Mome 13 = 4+4+2+3, and a less common 13 = 3+2+3+2+3, then the Eleno
Mome may use time signature
13
16
and the other
8 5
+
16 16
So this is a supergrouping relative to the one in \mixedMeter,
telling how the time signature should be summed up.
