What in the documentation contradicts this behaviour?
"Volta: The repeated music is not written out but enclosed in repeat bar lines. If the repeat is at the beginning of a piece, a repeat bar line is only printed at the end."
This is not at the beginning of a piece, but a repeat bar line is only printed at the end of the music. Perhaps there needs to be an explicit indication that the previous bar line setting affects this behaviour (which is not at all intuitive)?
