        Since I'm running Gentoo, I figured I'd use Gentoo's package
manager. This may indicate that I have to hack the ebuild to do some
font magic or other which it's not currently doing; I'll take
another look at the build documentation and scour Gentoo's Bugzilla.
Someone's writing an ebuild; it's just going reeeeal slow.
