I think I'll just re-do the score. It’s only two parts, and the
hassle of installing a translator that likely won’t work well is not
really how I want to spend my time.
Thanks

Hello, I'm just wondering…
I'm in lilypond version 2.6.5 on OSX. I'm finding myself increasingly
more facile with the program by the minute. I'm wondering if I'm
doing something wrong with etf2ly. I don't get output, I just get
errors (syntax errors) I'm typing etf2ly [filename] and get nothing.
I'm assuming this is because I don't have the right Python.
Or should I just re-notate the whole thing?
One alternative is to switch to 2.7.28 and use the new MusicXML
import (which
of course only works if your ETF-compatible software supports XML
export).
The MusicXML import is generally better supported than ETF in the
2.7 series.
If you still want to use 2.6 for its stability, then you can use
only the XML
import from 2.7, and switch to 2.6 for post-editing/typesetting the
score;
the file format should be more-or-less backward compatible.
