Good that you found this out. gs.exe should be a copy of gswin32c.exe. Can check to see if that is the case? What operating system are you using? Can you check if copying gswin32.exe to gs.exe makes lilypond produce PDFs? How do you run LilyPond, and what operating system are you using?
