Gabriel,
Thank you for your reply.
I mean measure counts as in NR 2.5.6.
Paul
Thanks for the clarification.
A friendly suggestion to all: My $0.02 is that it’s best practice on
this list always to include a URL when citing documentation. 🙂
The number for a section of LilyPond documentation frequently changes
across LilyPond version numbers. For example, in 2.24 the section
“Measure counts” was at 1.2.5, not 2.5.6.
If posters include links, then readers who want to help them don’t
have to spend time guessing “Which version of LilyPond is this poster
using?” or clicking through multiple links to get to the section of
documentation in question.
Thank you for the reminders. I also forgot to start with the version.
I think I found the section that you are citing:
https://lilypond.org/doc/v2.27/Documentation/notation/bars#measure-counts
<https://lilypond.org/doc/v2.27/Documentation/notation/bars#measure-counts>
I have never used measure counts myself, but I imagine that someone
with experience has an answer to your question!
I hope so. I am rewriting some parts to a piece that has some
instruments playing a repeated pattern over 14 measures. The measure
counts help the players keep track of where they are.
