You're asking me to imagine something that doesn't make sense to me,
then to argue that this non-sensible situation shouldn't happen. Hmm.

I think you need to provide an example of what you mean. Obviously
it doesn't need to be an MWE if LP can't do it; a sketch would do.

Feel free to ignore that aspect: I'd like to see what the construction
is meant to do when it's applied to only one staff.
