Is it possible to have note names printed using moveable do solfege?

I've been experimenting with the noteNameFunction(). I can get the
pitch-notename and pitch-alteration, which is a good start. But I
think I need to know the key and tonality to be able to decide which
pitch is 'do'. Can I get that information in this context?

Yes, that is absolutely possible.

The current tonic is stored in a context property which can be read and
put to use in a simple engraver. The manuals show how to do this for
easy note names using scale degrees:

With a little bit of Scheme effort, one can replace numbers by movable
do syllables.

Where do you want your syllables to appear? In note heads (like in the
Manual example), or in a NoteNames context, or somewhere else still?
