Not a Frescobaldi user myself, but if I remember correctly they will be created
(and saved) in the same folder as your sourcefile when generated 'after saving'
and in a temp-folder when generated from a source with unsaved changes (which
includes a new sourcefile that was never saved yet). IIRC for unsaved sources
Frescobaldi saves them in a temp folder in order to run lilypond processing on
the file.
