I had trouble with lilypond in SuSE 9.3, which now is solved thanks to Mats Bengtsson.
This is the solution:
cd /usr/share/lilypond/2.4.4/fonts/ mkdir map cd map ln -s ../../dvips/lilypond.map texhash
