If you use the flag -E with dvips, it will produce an EPS file
(by default it will still be called .ps but will work as an .eps)
that's as small as possible, still including all the printed
material:
dvips -Ppdf -u+lilypond -E myfile.dvi
(I hope I remember correctly the other flags for dvips that
are needed for LilyPond version 2.0. Run lilypond -V otherwise
to see what flags are normally used from within lilypond).
You may have to turn off the page numbers so they are not
included in the .eps.

Hi,
I will need to use Lilypond (2.0) in a text in OpenOffice.
To do that I am planning to use ps2eps and epstools to export the ps to an eps.
How can I tell LilyPond (2.0) to use a custom page size, so I get a Small EPS which contains only one stave, without the whole white space (so I don't have to go through the tedious work of clipping it in OpenOffice?

Cheers,
Ron
