Replying to my own query here with the solution. I was sent, off-list, a couple of solutions:
\paper { ... oddHeaderMarkup = \markup \fill-line { "" "11" } } \paper { print-first-page-number = ##t first-page-number = 2 % or whatever number you need } The second one is working fine. The first one likely would, too, but I had an alignment issue with the page number of a header element which turned out to be due to my use of '\vspace' in the header in question. I removed the '\vspace' and specified a top margin and all is well.
