I don’t disagree. I picked it because of the objects that obey break-visibility (http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.19/Documentation/notation/visibility-of-objects#using-break_002dvisibility) it was the one that made the most sense to use because it had a clear concept of what the first note on the line was.
