it's probably a packaging problem (in lilypond-snapshot), AFAIK. the 2.4 series of my package still have some nasty bugs. some of them can be solved if you install also the lilypond from the debian archive. (I mean, both lilypond and lilypond-snapshot). I'm fixing most of them in the new 2.5 package I'm going to release soon.
