I'm running lilypond 2.2.6 on SuSE 9.2 (kernel 2.6.8) with Athlon-64 CPU. I'm comfortable with the syntax for the "times 2/3" construct; it works right at other places in the file.
Here is the snippet:
<<
% {ees4. c8 c2( | c2) \times 2/3 {c b c} }\\
{<fis a>1( | <fis a>1) | }
\\ {ees1 | s1 }
>> | % R37
<<
% {d2 c2( | c2) \times 2/3 {c b c} } \\ { <f aes>1 ( | <f aes>1 )} \\ {c1 } >> % R39
<ees fis a ees>2 <ees fis a c>2(|<ees fis a c>8) r8 <e g c>4 <g c e> <c e b>| % R41
<ees g a>4. <ees g a>8(<ees g a>2) | d,4 <ees aes c>4 <f a c ees> <fis c e bes>| % R43
<<{<c e g>1( | <c e g>4) } \\ {g2. s4 | r4} >> <g, c e>4 <c e g> <e g c> | %R45
