Hi Urs, I agree that probably only a neglectable minority would like to fiddle with a lot of audio options. For a GNU program, Ogg Vorbis makes sense. MP3 because everyone knows it. And a possibility to keep the WAV for further processing, e.g. in DAWs, with video or other encoders. (I use a simple shell script calling timidity and lame for MIDI -> WAV -> MP3.)
