And: Ligatures working like they should!

The question on how to install an unstable version was offtopic - and
yet, it totally solved my problem with ligatures.
Thank you so much for your help!

I now can start on creating my new chord-symbol-font. Of course, I'll
keep you all informed about it.
As for now (and for me): Problem solved!
