A lot of basements are walk-out, of course, like ours.

You see all sorts of variations, like B1, B2… (basement), P1, P2…
(parking), and L1, L2… (lower?, level?, lobby?). But what's almost
universal in lifts is that the "street" level is marked *. Whew.
