Well, I'm not looking for a tool for my own use, and https://github.com/wbsoft/frescobaldi/commits/manuscript-viewer?author=uliska&page=1 (through page 11) may serve as an indication that I *am* aware of Frescobaldi :-/ There may be numerous reasons why one would want to edit LilyPond files with a non-IDE editor but still want things like syntax highlighting or the other tools mentioned in this thread. But what I'm actually after is a non-comprehensive list of types of LilyPond editing environments.
