Actually, in the German translation of the manual the descriptions fo the first two Selected Snippets got interchanged: http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.19/Documentation/notation/expressive-marks-as-lines.de.html#arpeggio “Arpeggio zwischen Systemen in einem Klaviersystem erstellen” and the corresponding text should refer to the first snippet and “Arpeggio über mehrere Systeme in anderen Kontexten” to the second.
