Hmm... could you include a short example that demonstrates this? I just
tested this:-----
\score{\notes{ s1
<e'1 a'> <a' cis'>
}}
-----
on 1.7.20, and it looks fine. It's possible that there's a bug in
1.6.10; could you test this example, or provide your own example
that demonstrates this behaviour?
