Why not use lilypond-book which is tailor-made for this purpose.
Read the sections in the Tutorial and in the Reference Manual on
"Integrating text and music" and see

and the other emails in that thread. I'd recommend to use a different
suffix for the HTML files with inline Lilypond code, for example
.lyhtml to avoid confusion with the .html files generated from
lilypond-book.

you could produce a ps-file and use ghostview (gv, gsview) to generate graphic files (eg. png) from it.
