JS> is this because i run 1.2.17? or am i missing certain files? I'm no expert at this, but I have a strong impression that's because the file you use is written with a ulterior version of Lilypond... In any case it's always better to get one of the latest stable version (anything 1.4) because the program has radically evolved since.
