Very much an improvement!
proportionalNotationDuration (not sure yet)
Brainstorming: proportionalNotationBase – proportionalNotationShortest –
proportionalNotationShortestNote – proportionalNotationBaseMoment (yes,
I know…) – proportionalShortestNote
tupletSpannerDuration tupletBracketMusicalLength
voltaSpannerDuration voltaBracketMusicalLength
Seems awkward to me to use Length. Less awkward to use MusicLength,
because the user will know to use \musicLength (which is no problem as a
name) for producing the value. I see that the grob property of
VoltaBracket is called musical-length, though…
Since context property voltaSpannerDuration is deprecated anyway, maybe
delete it? For how long has it been deprecated? Maybe rename grob
property musical-length so users don’t get confused about musical-length
= \musicLength 4 ? Spelling it out, doesn’t seem actually confusing to
me. Don’t have time to continue thinking about that, right now.
Best, Simon
The motivation for moving away from "duration" is that there is an
internal type called duration and that is not what these use.
There is inconsistency between "length" and "musical length" because
it sounds unnecessary to specify that "length" is used in the musical
sense for measure, rest, or repeat, but it seems helpful to specify it
for a horizontal bracket.
Do you agree?
