Hi all,

after months of preparations (if not years) and actual implementation
work during the last few weekends, I would like to share the first
complete prototype for generating LilyPond's HTML documentation with
texi2any: https://gitlab.com/lilypond/lilypond/-/merge_requests/2089

Before you get too excited, let me make it clear that there are still
discussions to be held, decisions to be taken, and work to be done. For
example, while there already is quite some compatibility code for
Texinfo 6.7, I haven't yet found a way to honor
@xrefautomaticsectiontitle for the navigation panel. If it turns out
that there is no (good) solution for that (which I'm not sure yet),
there are a couple of options for how we generate the official
documentation during the releases (because that's where it matters
eventually).

But I haven't made up my mind on some points yet and no concrete
proposals for now, so it's too early for meaningful discussions. Also,
take the shared merge request as strictly work-in-progress. If you find
a problem and get down to coding a solution, I would like to reserve
full authority on whether to take that solution and / or what degree to
rework it. This is to make sure we at least start with a reasonably
clean customization file, which really has been a mess to clean up...

Cheers
Jonas
