Let's state the obvious candidate here: This is very likely related to https://gitlab.com/lilypond/lilypond/-/merge_requests/1955 which added the emmentaler-font.conf defining a single cachedir. I wouldn't be surprised if it starts working again after you revert that commit. Jonsa
