As far as I understand, the proposal would be to have some sort of button in Frescobaldi itself to install new versions of LilyPond, not only during installation of Frescobaldi. I think that would exactly fit your use case, which is "get me the latest development version of LilyPond that was released an hour ago". Same for stable releases, obviously 😉 Jonas
