Thanks for reminding me, this is something that I wanted to
share on this list but I forgot. We have a bit of a problem here,
because Cairo doesn't support setting arbitrary attributes in SVG
output right now. This corresponds to issue #281 in the Cairo
bug tracker.

So, in order to make this supported, we first have to get
this supported in Cairo.
I was pretty disappointed to discover this, because I thought
we would be able to drop the traditional SVG backend soon in
favor of the Cairo backend, but it looks like this will be
much more work than expected.
