https://gitlab.com/lilypond/lilypond/-/merge_requests/1127 is currently on Review, and should be on the right track to be merged in three days because it's already been reviewed by several people, but I do want to mention just in case that I would not want a release to be happen without it or a fix for https://gitlab.com/lilypond/lilypond/-/issues/6257.
