Hi everyone, Please see the forwarded message below. This student (Charles, also CC'd) is interested in participating in GSoC with LilyPond and has been trying for a while to subscribe to the list to post this with no luck so please excuse the lateness.
I guess he can't reply back to lilypond-devel still, but can to individuals - so, others, please keep that in mind if it looks like he's not responding. :-) ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Winston, Charles R. <charles.wins...@tufts.edu> Date: Mon, Mar 27, 2017 at 8:20 PM Subject: Re: Google SoC To: "jefferyshiv...@gmail.com" <jefferyshiv...@gmail.com> Hi LilyPond Team, I recently received information about LilyPond and the Summer of Code from Jeffery Shivers, who participated with LilyPond in the past, and I am extremely interested in applying. I'm a sophomore CS major at Tufts University, where I am also minoring in Music Engineering and Mathematics. I am a passionate musician and programmer, and while I haven't had experience using LilyPond itself, I have a lot of experience using similar softwares—I use Sibelius frequently to arrange acapella music, and I use LaTeX very often for math homework, math research papers, and other miscellaneous documents; since LilyPond is a LaTeX-like music engraving program, I wouldn't have trouble picking it up! I am very excited by this opportunity and wanted to contact you guys and get in touch! The LilyPond community seems great and I really want to be a part of it. The projects I am most interested in pursuing are improving the internal representation of LilyPond chords and improving the MusicXML importing and exporting functions, but I would be happy pursuing any of them. I'd love to hear more about these projects and about LilyPond in general. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you guys! Thanks, Charles Winston _______________________________________________ lilypond-devel mailing list lilypond-devel@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-devel
